Heavy Rainfall over Lower Michigan From the July 14th through July 16th, 2024
Thunderstorms with heavy rain two nights in a row brought 2″ to 3″ of rain over a good share of southern Half of Lower Michigan.
Kalamazoo’s CoCoRaHS report of 3.52″ was the greatest total from the reports I have seen.
A Quick Look at Hurricane Beryl
Beryl was the first Category 4 hurricane to form in the month of June. The previous record was Dennis when it became a Category 4 hurricane on July 8, 2005.
Expect Heavy Rain and Likely Localized Flooding from Central Illinois to Central Lower Michigan Tonight into Wednesday Evening.
Beryl is expected to bring heavy rain and some flooding from east Texas into Missouri by Wednesday. The heavy rain track reaches Michigan by Thursday.
Warmer than normal temperatures are expected over most of the CONUS following the system for the third week of July.
